The course critically explores language(s) via the medium of cinema where language plays a key role in the film. It is intended to introduce students to the fundamental place language occupies within human experience, to advance knowledge of some of the features of the system of language, develop a sharper ear for language, a better understanding of its nature, and a livelier interest in all its manifestations. The course will be taught in English and films will be shown with subtitles. Typically offered Fall Spring Summer.
