Service organizations are labor-intensive, requiring effective talent management to be successful. Managers must be able to attract, develop, motivate, and retain employees to deliver exceptional service. Building on leadership skills and management principles, this course will emphasize the strategic role of human resource management with topics that span the lifecycle of a job (e.g., recruitment, selection, training, performance management, compensation, etc.). Students will explore the science behind effective talent management, developing knowledge and skills that will prepare them to manage a growing and diverse workforce.
