Students will build on material learned in EDCI 32501. They will concentrate on increasing student's literacy skills with a focus on fluency, phonics, strategic reading, vocabulary, literary analysis, content area reading, the writing process, and building comprehension skills. They will learn to select appropriate materials, employ strategies to meet the cognitive and affective literacy needs of all children, and create integrate, and use data from various forms of assessment to inform the teaching and learning process.
